Andrea Giunta nació en 1960, en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Escritora, curadora y profesora de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, en la que obtuvo su doctorado. Es investigadora principal del CONICET (Argentina) e investigadora visitante en la Universidad de Texas (EEUU). Entre los premios con los que fue galardonada se destacan las becas Guggenheim, Rockefeller, Getty, Harrington, Tinker, y el Premio Konex. Es autora de varios libros sobre arte latinoamericano. Fue co-curadora de “Extranjerías”, MUAC (2012); “Verboamérica”, MALBA (2016); “Radical Women. Latin American Art, 1960–1985”, Hammer Museum, Brooklyn Museum y Pinacoteca de São Paulo (2017–2018); y curadora general de la 12 Bienal del Mercosur, Porto Alegre (2020), entre otras exposiciones.
