The images captured by Jorge Sclar’s camera sometimes seem to be sincere portraits, while others appear to be caricatures of themselves, ocasionally in unusual contexts. Seen in perspective, the sum of personalities is overwhelming.

Diego Maradona passed through Paris when he first went to Naples, and his smile still maintained some of its freshness. In 1990 Susana Giménez dared to pose in the Place Dauphine in trousers that were excessively red.  In 1983 Jorge Luis Borges offered his lucid inner vision to the Academie Française, while Astor Piazzola rehearsed his last Parisian tangos, and Osvaldo Soriano drank a coffee at the Place de Vosges before returning to Argentina. There are also others who in some way belong to the Argentine collective imagery: Yves Montand in the final years of his life; Umberto Eco under his hat; Benigno, Che’s companion, and other photographs that belong to the history of France.
