Porter, Santiago

Santiago Porter was born in Buenos Aires in 1971. His work, featured in individual and collective exhibitions in Argentina and abroad, is part of numerous collections, both public and private. In 2002 he received te Guggenheim Fellowship and was also awarded with the Fundación Antorchas Scholarship. In 2007 he was given a grant to participate of the program Intercampos III at Fundación Telefónica in Buenos Aires, and won the Photography First Prize of Sociedad Central de Arquitectos de Buenos Aires. In 2008 he won the Petrobras-Buenos Aires Photo Award. In 2010 was granted the Scholarship of the Fondo Nacional de las Artes, and in 2011 was selected to participate in the Program for Artists at Di Tella University. He is the author of the books Piezas (2003), La Ausencia (2007) y Bruma (2017). He is currently teacher at the Department of Social Sciences of San Andrés University.
